About Immigration Voice
Immigration Voice is a non-profit organization (501 (c) (4) pending) working to alleviate the problems faced by legal high-skilled foreign workers in the United States. We act as an interface between this set of immigrants and the legislative and executive branches of the government. We work towards eliminating procedural hurdles by interfacing with the government branches that formulate policy.

Immigration Voice is a completely voluntary organization. All of our volunteers are unpaid. All monies collected by Immigration Voice go towards grassroots efforts and obtaining advice from our strategic counsel Quinn Gillespie and Associates. All monies left over after Immigration Voice' activities cease will be donated to charity. As a 501(c)(4) organization, Immigration Voice is obligated to file tax returns with the IRS and have its accounts audited by a CPA.

Immigration Voice upholds the right of the people of the United States to impose immigration laws for the advancement of the nation. Immigration Voice acts within the framework of the constitution of the United States.

Our big initiative currently is towards addressing delays and other flaws in the employment based green card process. Immigration Voice has hired Quinn Gillespie & Associates, a top public affairs firm, to help us reach our goals.

Mission Statement
The mission of Immigration Voice is to organize grassroots efforts and resources to solve several problems in the employment based green card process including (a) delays due to Retrogression (visa number unavailability for certain employment-based categories) (b) delays due to USCIS processing backlogs and (c) delays due to Labor Certification backlogs. We will work to remove these and other flaws by supporting changes to immigration law for high-skilled legal employment-based immigrants. High-skilled legal immigrants strengthen the United States' economy and help maintain American technological superiority.

How Immigration Voice Was Formed
In Nov 2005, the US Senate was considering the passage of the Budget Reconciliation Bill S.1932, which contained two sections with provisions that would have helped legal immigrants. The two sections were 8001 and 8002. The actual text for these sections can be obtained here http://www.imminfo.com/resources/s1932.html

When S. 1932 was being debated in Congress, some visitors to the ImmigrationPortal.com website started following the debate closely and reporting on up to the minute happenings. Some forum members also met with lawmakers to convince them to support Sections 8001 and 8002. Once the bill moved up to the conference committee, we heard conflicting reports about whether or not the sections 8001 and 8002 were being dropped. Forum members led a massive effort to fax and email letters to a majority of senators and congressmen.

Unfortunately, despite these efforts these provisions did not make it in to the bill that was finally signed by the President. It became clear that instead of scattershot efforts, what we needed was an organization with a plan and a sustained campaign to get our voice heard. So the members who led the effort to fax and mail senators got together to form Immigration Voice. Today many more have joined them. We urge you to get involved, and help the cause of legal high skilled immigrants everywhere.
